Family Piano Company is deeply interested in music education as well as the pianos themselves. We do everything we can to support music at home, in the schools, and in the community.

Many studies have been done over the years that show dramatic improvement in scholastic skills (especially concentrating and memorizing skills) and coordination skills in kids who study piano, even for 2 years or less. And kids aren't the only beginners out there: More adults and senior citizens are taking up piano for the first time than ever before. The teachers usually love having beginning adults because of their enthusiasm.

We invite groups to make us a field trip destination. There are a zillion little parts "under the hood" of a piano – they’re absolutely fascinating machines. We also enjoy demonstrating sound waves and piano tuning. We have several entertaining programs appropriate for different ages, from younger children up to senior citizens. We're happy to provide this service to the community free of charge, but reservations are needed.

Among the various ways we support education are:
• With the purchase of EVERY piano, ALL teens and adults in the household are invited to attend FREE beginning group piano lessons for up to 6 months. These classes meet once a week, and are such FUN! There is no pressure, and you will actually learn to play songs right away. We start at the very beginning for most people, but if someone had lessons previously, they’d want to jump in at the half-way point.
• We invite field trips. The machinery of a piano is quite amazing, and has to be seen to be appreciated.
• We're happy to talk before music classes about how pianos work.
